How did Megan get started as a solopreneur?

Megan got a taste for entrepreneurship early on by watching her mom successfully open and run 3 different businesses. She attributes this example to the reason she was able to strike out on her own after 8 years as an employee. Megan wanted to make more money and gain more independence and once she realized that she could be making $50,000 more a year by working for herself she was finally able to walk away from the security that the safe route brings.

Lack of confidence can postpone your solopreneur journey

Taking the leap into private practice wasn’t easy. She struggled with confidence as a solopreneur. Megan thinks the reason that she didn’t go into practice for herself sooner is due to that lack of confidence. Did your confidence affect your timing of becoming a solopreneur? Even though she was hesitant to start her journey as a solopreneur, Megan says the biggest question she has asked herself is: why didn’t I do this sooner?

As a solopreneur, communication is important to maintaining your relationships

Striking out on your own is stressful and can impact your relationships. It’s important to keep the lines of communication open in your relationships. Be prepared to speak up and voice your needs. It’s also important to listen to your partner and understand their needs as well. Listen in to learn how to communicate with your partner
